The Enchancements
We had a fall weekend with a clear weather window so decided to check this one off the bucket list. One of the most recommended hikes in Washington, with a bluebird day during larch season we knew it would be busy. We skipped staying in Leavensworth as during Oktoberfest its a bit overpriced and not our scene. Headed down after work, ended up getting 4 hours sleep and managed to get up for our 515 shuttle. Views from Colchuk lake were beautiful. The hike up Aasgard pass had a few bottlenecks of hikers, struggling in the snow. The efforts are certainly worthwhile, spectacular views in the core region. The hike out does drag on somewhat, but certainly a great day out. For a more verbose trail description the WTA website reads like a novella, but the stats are a slight underestimate. Hope to return someday for some climbing perhaps Stuart, or at least a scramble up little Annapurna
